Speech recognition of incoming spoken content -- converting speech into text -- would allow a user to see as text whatever the other end of the call was sending as speech. This would be a useful feature for people with hearing loss.
Note: this feature is not found on any commercially available devices; however, it has been the subject of several trials and is implemented on an experimental basis in a few TRS programs.
