I am a frequent cruiser and found this kind of vacation is the very best there is! However, with my hearing loss, I do miss out alot when it comes to announcements and entertainment.
First and foremost, for safety reasons, is flashing lights when an emergency statement is announced.......or when the lifeboat drill is starting, would be very helpful. Knowing that a sleeping hard of hearing person WOULD be woken up by lights is something else that would help. Written text whenever possible, and captioned movies and shows would also make a big difference in making the cruise experience total.
I travel with my hearing husband and he does inform me of announcements and such when they occur. But if he should too lose his hearing, would we have to stop cruising? I SURE HOPE NOT! We would be extremely happy cruisers if we knew that in that event, we could still pursue our favorite way to vacation.
Thank you for listening to my concerns and comments.
