I took my nearly deaf 13 year old daughter on a Carnival Cruise this past spring break. I had requested several times to the travel agent that any accomodations that could be made, should be made for a hearing impaired person (ie: captions enabled on the tv in the stateroom, flasher doorbell, etc). Nothing had been even mentioned when we boarded. It was a full 24 hours before the cruise line provided us with any of the available requested items and to their credit they did stuggle to do so ASAP. What I saw was an inability to easily provide basic accomodations. It wasn't fair that she couldn't attend many shows because there were no interpreters available. It was a stressful trip for me on her behalf.
