I am in agreement with the Hearing Loss Association of America that cruise ships need to be more accessible to patrons with hearing loss. As a hearing impaired traveler, I found it frustrating to be on a cruise ship without access to announcements that were given during emergency procedures drills. These directions need to be available visually (caption displays) to those of us who can not hear the audio instructions. If this is not feasible, hearing impaired patrons should be told beforehand where to find a designated staff member who can make the information accessible to them. Additional perks such as captioned movies at sea would also be much appreciated.
Thank you for your consideration,
