I do not have a computer so I, June Homan at [ ... ] am asking that a friend
with a computer send this to you so we can avoid the anthrax delay.
The Access Board is suggesting that audible traffic signals are necessary for
blind persons to travel safely in traffic. I have observed thousands of blind
people as the travel. I have NEVER seen any problem. This recommendation is so
very, very bad that it should immediately eliminated, which would also save
millions of dollars.
Along with the above silly idea about traffic signals come one about dectible
warnings. I have watched thousands cross street and they have no problems. I
have walked on the signals and find that they will catch high heels and that
they can be very slick. They are dangerous. Please stop this very silly idea.
