My name is Denice Brown. I am a "legally blind", female, retired school
teacher. I am also 2nd Vice President, and Legislative Chairperson of The
Greater Philadelphia Chapter of The National Federation of the Blind. I am
against yor idea of placing audible signals all over our intersections, You
obviously do not have the best interest of the blind in mind. We do not need to
hear birds or whistles at every corner. We have better ways of determining when
it is time to cross the street. If you really want to know how to make some
intersections more accessible to the blind, then you need to meet with the
leaders of the National Federation of the Blind. We are the largest organization
of the blind with over 50,000 members. Wouldn't we be the best people to ask?
