I am writing as to the “road
side” spraying concerns that I encounter as one with severe chemical
sensitivities. I seek to avoid areas but it is very difficult, especially when
spraying occurs on main highways, as well as smaller township roads. Access is a
concern when I take walks, especially along walking trails that run parallel to
highways, or even railroad trails restored. I would prefer less toxic removal
but in lieu of such could posting be done so that you do not find yourself along
the trail, having to leave but weakened from exposure quickly. Such spraying
also drafts onto growing berries and grains, easily visible once the pesticide
Roadsides are often cleaned up by community groups. Do the volunteers realize they may be exposed to such pesticides? Would such groups assist in removing vegetation if given resources?
Again, again support in the us of safe right of way and road side weeds is appreciated.
