Module 3: Screen 3
It is important to note that the ADAAG requirements do not increase the number of elements that need to be accessible. Designers may choose to use either adult dimensions or children's dimensions, as appropriate. For example, where ADAAG guidelines require that one lavatory in a restroom be accessible, it is at the discretion of the designer and client whether this lavatory is accessible to adults or children. In some cases, designers may choose to include one lavatory accessible to children and another accessible to adults. However, providing access to more than one lavatory is not required. |
