Introduction: Screen 2
ADA Accessibility Guidelines
On-Line Education Course
This coursedeveloped jointly by the AIA and the U.S. Architectural
and Transportation Barriers Compliance Board, or Access Boardis
designed to keep you up-to-date on the ADAAG guidelines that will be adopted
as new ADA regulations following action by the Department of Justice.
The course addresses only recent changes in ADAAG, the advisory
document developed by the Access Board. Specifically, it covers two new
sections that will be added and new provisions for children that will
be incorporated into existing standards.
Please note that although the guidelines in this course are likely
to be required in the near future, they have not yet been adopted into
existing ADA regulations. However, we encourage you to begin following
the guidelines as a matter of good practice, since providing accessible
facilities is already required by the ADA.
