I have for sometime now followed the debate of whether to install warnings at street crossings. Having traveled the public streets alone for 30 years as a totally blind adult in many cities, and having never been in an accident at a light controlled intersection. Thus, I find it hard to identify the need for any such warnings at light controlled intersections. There may be some incident that a warning device may be helpful, but certainly not as a rule or sweeping federal mandate. Please count me as one who opposes any federal rule requiring local governments to install audible or tactile warning devices at intersections.
Thank you very much,
